Dearest ONES (11111111's)
Blessings and greetings to all of you once again!! It has been quite awhile since my last email and I have much to tell you. Because of the date, however, 11-11-07, I want to share some of my favorite stories with you and hoping you can take the time to enjoy them or run off a copy to read at your leisure. Remember, one byte at a time.
The most recent story involves the "Glory Van", my Honda Odyssey purchased in 2004. Last month on my trip to Great Falls and Helena, Montana, I officially turned over 111,111 miles. I have certainly put on lots of miles across the country. I'm including a picture taken when I pulled off I-15 south of Helena, MT on October 16.
The Glory Van has made many trips across America and it has been my hope to spread the Good News of the Gospel and His Kingdom Glory wherever I go. It has taken gallons and gallons of expensive gas, regular maintenance and the faithfulness of the Lord to make the monthly payments when I had no idea how it could happen. I hope I have inspired and challenged you to go as the Lord directs you to go and enjoy His provision and protection wherever He takes you.
To HIS Glory and Grace, He has taken me 111,111 miles and now more without incident and accident. Isn't that worth HIS Praise???
I also want to share with you a present need. Honda recommends a timing belt change at 105,000 miles. I am already 10,000 miles over that at 115,000. I have been trusting the Lord for a perfect "timing" to change the timing belt and hope I don't push the limits. I know it needs to be done soon. The cost of changing it out is about $1200. If I don't, I will risk the damage and inconvenience of it going out and more expense.
Would you like to help? You can send a check or I can take credit/debit cards as well. Your help in maintaining the Glory Van is needed and so appreciated. At present, I do not have any other allocated funds for repairs and hope to give the Glory Van and its driver a rest awhile. I'll share more later.
You love and financial support is gratefully acknowledged. Thank you so much. I cannot do it without you.
Love always, Carla
Now for some classic 111 and 1111 stories from the past few years.
If you have been one (1) of those who see 1111's all the time, I think you'll enjoy the stories. You are free to pass them along as well to others who are infected and we can enjoy the mystery.
2007
I want to tell you my favorite 1111 story of this past year, 2007. This is a goodie. I think it's the best one yet and surely will make you laugh as it did me.
In June, I was busy preparing for a trip to Seattle and Portland. Which, by the way, became one of the most amazing trips I've taken yet. I keep saying that about my journeys, as they increase in amazement and wonder.
After many preparations and packing, I left Liberty Lake about 10:00 on Wednesday, June 27. I had some stops: the bank, the post office, the place that duplicates my CD's. Then I headed toward Spokane, stopping at the Costco store to return a blouse I decided not to keep. For those who don't know, Costco is a large discount warehouse, competitor to Sam's Club. It started in Seattle and is mainly in the northwest and California. I have been to them in other states on the east coast as they are gaining in popularity and as far as I'm concerned, are far better is merchandise and cost than Sam's Club.
Anyway, after returning my blouse, at customer service, I decided to make a quick trip to the bathroom. I was then heading to Seattle about 300 miles west of Spokane. As I entered the restroom, I picked the handicapped stall as it always gives you more room to move around. I reached across the toilet to pull out a couple toilet seat tissue to cover the seat.
As I began to turn around, I heard a loud plop. As I had prepared to do what I needed to do, I turned suddenly to find that one of my cell phones had just dropped into the commode, holster and all. Of course, I was horrified. Somehow, I had brushed my arm up against my cell phone which had been hooked to the outside of my pocket, and it had fallen in the toilet.
I cried out; "Oh, No!" Before I could think too much, I quickly reached into the toilet to retrieve my cell phone. Fortunately, I had not used the toilet yet and the toilet did not automatically flush. It's fall had been cushioned by the seat cover tissues as they had fallen in as well. I shook off the water and took a quick look to see if it was still working. Only to find that the time was 11:11 am. I couldn't believe it!! Not only had I just dropped my cell phone in the commode, but I had done it at 11:11. Many of you know that is my number and has represented positive alignment, being in the right place at the right time, amidst other things. But even in the toilet???
Earlier, I had strapped both of my cell phones in their holsters to my large Capri pockets. Normally, I try to keep them in my pockets, but for some reason, I had them on the outside. You may wonder why I have two cell phones. My 605-376-0033 number is my longtime cell phone, area code of South Dakota, my home state. I've had it nearly 8 years and keep it as I have it on many cards, brochures, and CD's.
I have some wonderful stories of people finding my ministry card and calling that cell after several years. About two years ago, my fairly new at the time cell phone hinge cracked, leaving me without a cell for about 2 weeks during the replacement process and making life difficult. At the time, I could add another line for $10 with a free phone. It seemed like a good option when you're dependent on a cell phone for communication. When I was in Moravian Falls, NC, I had added a local area code and line. Last fall when I moved to Liberty Lake, I changed the number to 509-599-0433, which gives me a Washington area code and number.
Last fall, my only 10 month old replacement cell phone for 605-376-0033 broke in exactly the same place, leaving me with another crippled phone. I had to wait out the 2 month time frame for a free rebate on a new phone and so began to use the 509 phone as it worked properly. It did come in handy after all. Thus people began to call equally on both phones.
I am amazed they can actually ring in at the same time and now, I juggle both phones, but don't want to give up either.
The 509-599-0433 phone is the one I dropped into the commode that registered 11:11 am when I fished it out. What do you do with a wet phone and holster? I didn't want it in my purse, so I just put them into the large pockets of my capri jeans and decided to walk around the store to look for a couple of things I needed.
I was very aware of my wet cell phone in my pocket. About 5 minutes later, I took it out to see if it was still working. The screen was lit up, but it was STUCK on 11:11. I couldn't believe it!! I couldn't help but smile. Even if my cell phone had just been drown and wasn't working, the fact that it was stuck on 11:11 made me laugh. I checked it again before I left the store, it was STILL 11:11. I shook my head in disbelief. Then I left the store to go to my van. The actual time was about 11:36 on my van clock, but my cell phone STILL said 11:11. It was as if time had stood still at 11:11. Selah.
I laid the wet phone and holster on the floor of the van while I made another stop. About 10 minutes later, when I got back into the van, the cell phone had shut itself off and the screen was dark. I tried to turn it back on and it did come on, giving me the message: service required. I figured that. It had been stuck on 11:11 for 15 minutes and more.
Since I was headed west, I decided to stop in Moses Lake at the Sprint Store, about 2 hours away. Leaving Spokane and heading uphill on I-90, I couldn't help but ask the Lord what He was trying to say to me. I heard one word: Eliminate. I smiled. That is what you do in a bathroom. Then I felt He said; "It is time to eliminate certain things from your life". I knew it was a message for me, but also for the groups I would be meeting with in Seattle and Portland. And I knew I was to share it with you. It's time to flush.
I thought of several: debt elimination, regret, fears, insecurities, hurts, bitterness, anger, prejudices, resentments, unhealthy relationships, bad thoughts, worry, anxiety, etc. Anything that is waste. What is wasting your time and mine in fruitless activity needs to get flushed. Selah.
THESE ARE MORE 111 STORIES FROM THE PAST FOR YOUR CONTEMPLATION AND ENJOYMENT!!
As I looked back at some old newsletters and read these few stories, I was reminded again of the Lord's faithfulness to us in the midst of adversity and trial.
One story that I wanted to share was concerning a trip I made to friend's house in Fairmont, MN in April 2002. I had stopped to see her and she asked me where I'd been. The previous fall, I had spent 6 weeks on a sabbatical at a wonderful prayer retreat in Winthrop, WA and fell in love with mountains and the whole northwest.
I was feeling drawn there, but Joshua at that time was not. To facilitate showing her that trip, I asked if she had an atlas. She did. It was an older edition, but I looked up the state of Washington. As I used my finger to point out where I'd been traveling, SUDDENLY, I saw it was on page number 111. Now I'd been traveling for weeks and months, looking at my atlas daily and never bothered being concerned with page numbers. Yet, on hers, Washington and Winthrop were located on page 111. My number. My heart soared and I wondered if indeed the Lord was going to lead us to Washington. In fact, I was sooooo excited, I bartered my brand new atlas for her old one. I still have it. In most current atlas's, Washington, DC is on page 111. That too is significant.
Fast forward to now. The Lord did indeed move us to Moses Lake that very year in Sept 2002, through an amazing set of circumstances to allow Josh to go to college. I hardly knew anything about Moses Lake, and it certainly didn't have any mountains!!! BUT, Moses Lake, WA is on Page 111 of that old atlas, still in my possession.. I like to remind myself of that when I wonder "why"..
May the Lord bless and keep you on this wonderful day of alignment with His purposes. Here's another excerpt in 2004.
I'm choosing to write to you today, because it is a very special number 1-11. For the past few years the Lord has spoken to me prophetically and confirmed His Word and plans through this unusual number 111 or 1111. In fact, across the country, many know me as the lady with all the 111 stories. I believe 1-1-1-1 speaks of a Divine Alignment, being in the right place, at the right time, with the right motives and the right people. Also it speaks of unity. I tend to see the number from left to right, reading as in the Hebrew Language.
Like this: 1000 < 100 < 10< 1 < thus adding them together - 1111
I have also thought of it in dimensions, like ripples in the water after a pebble is tossed into it.
Out of unity, (1) come the measure and testimony (10) of the fullness (100) of the glory (1000) undiminished forever.
The meanings of the numbers are:
1 - UNITY.
" I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that you may walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, with all lowliness, and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; endeavoring to keep the UNITY of the Spirit, in the bond of peace. There is only ONE body, and ONE Spirit, even as ye are called in ONE hope of your calling; ONE Lord, ONE faith, ONE baptism, ONE God and Father of all." Eph 4: 1-6
There just so happened to be 7 ONE'S, the number of perfection.
10 - THE NUMBER OF TESTIMONY AND THE MEASURE OF RESPONSIBILITYTen Commandments, 10 plagues, 10 virgins, 10 cities, the tithe, a tenth.
100 - THE FULLNESS OF THE PROMISE
Abraham was 100 years old when Isaac was born, 100 fold blessings, 100 sheep, 100 per cent.
1000 - DIVINE COMPLETENESS AND THE GLORY OF GOD"And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands." Rev 5:11
The Hebrews had no number for million, so they used thousands times thousands, which is the Glory of God undiminished.
Hope you find all that interesting. It IS a special day.
NOW FOR SOME WONDERFUL OLDER BUT "GOODER" STORIES!! Keep the dates in mind.
June 2002
It was about a year ago, I faced a really dark time when my transmission went out on my van and I was stranded without my personal things. I had to wait a week for it and the enemy was fighting me SO hard about coming west. I had been planning a trip, but suddenly it looked like it was totally impossible and I felt the hot breath of hell say "you're finished".
Also at that time, Joshua was reluctant to go out with me again and I felt pressure on top of pressure, not sure what to do. Anyone know what I'm talking about? One week later, the van was fixed and I climbed in. As I started the van, the clock radio said 1:11.
Those of you who know me, know that has been my number. The wonder of it was that it was only about 11:30 am. Yet, once that van started, it proceeded to go to 1:12, etc. I was overwhelmed with the grace of the Lord who promised me He had been there all along and I was going to need that new transmission to go all the way to the west coast and cross the mountains. The $1550 bill that I stewed about, was miraculously paid within one week and somehow that clock radio that was wrong, was really "right" on time for me.
I also need a new spiritual "trans-mission", as my gears certainly felt stripped. I later reflected, that I had to get "stripped and whipped to get equipped." I told Josh I wanted to drive back the same route and show him where I had broke down as I crossed the Missouri River in south central SD. It "just so happened" that at the moment we drove over the spot, I glanced at the time and it was the real 1:11 in the afternoon. Again, HE was there all the time.
1-11-03
Many of you have heard some of my 111 stories, which is why I wanted this to go out on 1-11. This past year I had multiplied occasions when I would catch the clock at exactly 11 minutes past the hour, whether it was 1:11, 2:11, 7:11, 8:11, etc. The Lord reminded me that time zones are for our convenience and that wherever it is eg., 7:11, it is 1:11 somewhere else.
Also with that came certain scriptures that are quickened to me in that moment. My favorite 7:11 store is Matt 7:11. "If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, HOW MUCH MORE will your FATHER who is in heaven give good and advantageous things to those who KEEP ON ASKING...."
My absolute favorite 8:11 is Romans 8:11. "And if the Spirit of HIM who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, then HE who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead WILL ALSO RESTORE TO LIFE your mortal bodies, through His Spirit Who dwells in YOU....
With that I want to suggest a way to partner in agreement with us for the coming year. Many "TIMES" we send a donation without realizing that the very amount can be a prophetic prayer and declaration. Recently I was meditating on the numbers and felt to suggest that you give this year wherever that might be, in multiples of 11. I saw it something like this:
1x111 = 111 alignment/unity/source/beginnings/first
2x111 = 222 agreement/two witnesses/testimony/double portion
3x111 = 333 completion/perfect agreement/trinity/third day
4x111 = 444 creation/earth/world/seasons
5x111 = 555 grace/five-fold ministry/hands on ministry/healing
6x111 = 666 identification with human condition/6th day/mankind
7x111 = 777 perfection/beauty/completeness/Sabbath rest/peace
8x111 = 888 new beginnings/resurrection life
9x111 = 999 fruitfulness/fullness/full term pregnancy/ hope
10x111=1110 multiplied measure/ten/law/order-restoration
1111 = perpetual fullness/prophetic fulfillment/eternal
March 2004
I returned about two weeks ago from an exceptional trip to North Carolina. I'm always amazed in retrospect at the struggle of whether to go or not and wondering if I'm hearing from God at all. However, in the going, He makes Himself so real to us and works miracles of provision, protection and sovereign connections.
I also had numerous 111 confirmations and "sightings". One of my favorite is that I had borrowed a van to drive to a weekend conference in Richlands and had left Raleigh that morning. It had snowed the night before and my heart was fearful I wouldn't be able to get out of the neighborhood where I was staying. However, my friend, Mark had shoveled a long driveway and the weather warmed to melt enough to leave early-afternoon.
I stopped at a fairly new gas station/mini mart to use the bathroom on the south side of Goldsboro. As I walked into the mini mart, past the coffee station, on my way to the bathroom, two men were talking and one of them was giving directions to the other one, who was lost. He said, "And you have to get on Hwy 111 and it's right out here." Now what are the odds of hearing that?
I had somehow managed to stop at the intersection of Hwy 70 and Hwy 111 in Goldsboro. Only God can so direct our steps and stops. I laughed a long time about that one. I have lots of other stories as well from that trip, which reminded me of an old song:
"He knows where I am, every hour of the day, He knows the thoughts I think, every word I will say. And altho there've been times, I've been out of His will, I've never been out of His care."
November 2004I have sooooooo many other things to tell you, but will conclude with one of the most amazing things that happened on my recent trip:
As I drove into Idaho Falls from Butte, MT, I saw the sign for Salt Lake City. I was quickened with the thought, "I could go there". I had an open day and was about 200 miles away. Then my reason kicked in and said, "Why, would you do that??'
It was on my first trip from Twin Falls, ID to Blackfoot, ID the summer of 2000 that I had my first profound experience with 111, when I happened to look and see I'd come 111 miles and it was 1:11 in the afternoon. That next summer, in 2001, I found out the last three digits of SLC zip code was 111 and I was led to go and pray there at the Great Salt Lake. It was an awesome day and story of being there and meeting Tim and Cindy McGill who pastor SLC Foursquare and also work with Streams Ministries, dream interpretation and John Paul Jackson.
After several days of wresting and reasoning on this recent trip, I called Cindy who just happened to be home and could meet me for lunch. It was my first time ever to drive over 200 miles to meet someone for lunch, but we did have an awesome time! I had also been given the name of Marie, an anointed woman pastor and called to tell her hi from mutual friends. She "just so happened" to be free for the evening and offered to meet me for supper and we talked for almost 3 hours.
The next day, I went back to the very same place on the Salt Lake that I had prayed by Divine unction over 4 years ago. As I was coming back, I realized I was about to turn 22, 222 miles. This whole year has been filled with 2's and I shared last time about my amazing trip after Labor Day, when I hit mile marker 222 at 2:22 on Hwy 97 north of Wenatchee, WA.
Now this is almost unbelievable, but God!!!!! As I left the Salt Lake, on my way back to the city, I was on I-80. As I approached mile marker 111, my mileage turned to 22,222 and by the time I got to Exit 111, I was still on 22,222. I took lots of pictures and had my camcorder with me. It shocked even me!! My 111's and 222's have had to do with SLC. When I returned, I took time to drive downtown around the Mormon Tabernacle and believe God is going to do something miraculous with the LDS people.
BLESSINGS TO ALL YOU ONE (1) DERFUL PEOPLE.
I LOVE YOU !!!! CARLA
